“The Great Artists”, the app dedicated to the works of some of the greatest masters of all times: Botticelli, Raphael, Leonardo da Vinci, Caravaggio, Vermeer, Tiepolo, Van Gogh, Klimt, Picasso and Chagall is now available on the App Store.
“The Great Artists” app for iPad has been produced by Centrica in partnership with Giunti Editore, with the financial support of the Region of Tuscany in the framework of D@NTE project.
Three hundred masterpieces at very high resolution are browsable and comparable in detail, and related to each other per subjects and themes thanks to Centrica software platform based on XLimage® and XLknowledge® innovative technologies.
The app proposes a new way to look at the art, through unusual browsing itineraries, with the possibility to compare themes and subjects, for example, the “Giuditta” by Caravaggio and the “Giuditta” by Klimt, or also the theme of mirrors in Klimt and Picasso to investigate their hidden meanings.
The application also provides the biography of each artist, a brief description of their works, a reference bibliography and a special soundtrack with the chance to appreciate the musical instruments appearing in the paintings, such as spinets and lutes in Vermeer, and the musical score depicted by Caravaggio (i.e. in the Rest on the Flight into Egypt).
The first ten titles of the collection – Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Caravaggio, Vermeer, Tiepolo, Van Gogh, Klimt, Picasso, Chagall – are available on the AppStore and purchasable separately.
Download the application free and you will receive as a gift the section dedicated to Caravaggio.
The other artists are available at € 2.69 each, and the whole collection at the special price of € 14.99.
