Following the incredible popularity of the Charles M. Schulz and his Peanuts exhibition last year, Centrica is happy to announce a new and exciting project realised with the Associazione Culturale Cuadri, in collaboration with Spin Master and with the contribution of Fondazione CRC.
‘50 anni di Cubo. Ernő Rubik e il rompicapo che ha incantato il mondo (50 Years of the Cube. Ernő Rubik and the brainteaser that enchanted the world)‘ is the title of the exhibition that will be inaugurated on Friday 20 September 2024 at 5.30 p.m., at the Spazio Innovazione of Fondazione CRC in Cuneo, via Roma 17.
The two cornerstones of the well-known game—creativity and logic—have directed Centrica’s designers in creating a distinctive and captivating environment. Follow the tale of a pop icon of design that influenced a great deal of other games that are ingrained in the collective mind.
Paolo Romoli, CTO and co-founder of Centrica and ArtCentrica, and Jonela Llaci, head of design, will be present at the opening!
Three specially created rooms with videowalls, timelines, showcases, and exhibits of certain rare cube models will guide visitors through the exhibition route.
The first room, dedicated to the games that inspired Ernő Rubik, has an island with interactive digital games including Pentamino, Game of fifteen, and Tangram. Arithmetic and the algorithms that regulate the Cube’s function will be described in detail in one section. The artwork of international artist Giovanni Contardi, created especially for the occasion using 1800 cubes, is also on exhibit for the public to see.
The set up of the second room allows users to either tackle the cube around an educational island in a “free” manner or attempt to solve the required pattern to construct mosaics that are displayed at progressively harder levels of complexity.
The journey through the history of the Rubik’s Cube ends in the third room where an immersive digital show is displayed, kicking off a storytelling with tributes to the cube in music, film and art with ‘Rubikcubism’.
